The Life and Adventures of Santa ClausThis 1902 novel details the infancy, youth, adulthood and motivation of Santa Claus. Slightly different from any adaptation heard at the time it was written, the book describes Santa as being educated by immortal fairies and wood nymphs in the forest. |

Five stars for one of the freakiest stories ever written. And this by the same person who wrote the Wizard of Oz. Santa suckled on the teats of a lion... I think Baum discovered LSD way before Timothy Leary. A must read to the companion must see Rankin and Bass Christmas special of the same name.
