About the author (2004)

Frederick Lipp is the author of several picture books, including The Caged Birds of Phnom Penh (Holiday House), a Notable Book for a Global Society (IRA). He is also founder and president of the Cambodian Arts and Scholarship Foundation. Fred lives in Whitefield, Maine.

Jason Gaillard is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. He has illustrated Bread Song (Mondo), Jake Greenthumb (Mondo), and other picture books. Jason lives in Warwick, New Jersey.
