About the author (1989)

After nearly three decades on the sidelines, Lou Holtz retired from coaching and now shares his strategies for success with Fortune 500 companies, groups, and organizations. He is the author of two bestsellers, "The Fighting Spirit" and "Winning Every Day". He lives in Florida.

John Heisler has served as Notre Dame's sports information director for 16 years. The South Bend, Indiana, native originally joined the Notre Dame staff in 1978 and was promoted to associate director in 1982. A graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, Heisler assisted Lou Holtz on his 1989 book The Fighting Spirit and edited the 2001 book Quotable Rockne.
