About the author (1981)

Lynne Sharon Schwartz is a novelist and children's writer. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Schwartz chronicled her love of reading and the meaning it has had upon her life in a book called Ruined by Reading. Her 1990 book, Leaving Brooklyn, was a 1990 nominee for the Pen/Faulkner Award for Fiction. Schwartz has also written for children in such books as The Four Questions, explaining the traditions of Passover.
