Cyrano de BergeracCyrano de Bergerac is about devotion, friendship and unrequited love in 17th century France and is one of the most famous examples of the poetic, romantic drama he created. Cyrano is courageous and witty, but his proud spirit is hampered by his ridiculous nose. In love with Roxane, he nevertheless aids young Christian to win her. She doesn't realize his devotion until he is dying. The work has high literary value and dramatic power, realizing perfectly the spirit of Romance. |
