This book was given to me by my dad when I inherited my grandpa's homemade lathe. I read it cover to cover in one sitting and ran to the lathe to try out my techniques. I quickly found out that reading isn't how you learn to turn, hours woodturning is. Without this book, I would have had a much longer learning curve. I still go back to this book as a reference guide when I need a push in the right direction or just a refresher. I high recommend this book to anyone that is just starting out in woodturning and also the seasoned turner for reference. Mr. Rowley's book has great illustrations, photography and covers everything one needs to learn how to turn.

This is an important book. If you read it and put into practice what you read and learn (and have a lathe of course) - you will be able to turn wood. Simples. Read full review
