The Greek Anthology"The Greek Anthology" ("Gathering of Flowers") is the name given to a collection over many centuries of about 4500 short Greek poems (called epigrams but usually not epigrammatic) by about 300 composers. Meleager of Gadara (first century BCE), an outstanding contributor, also assembled the "Stephanus "("Garland"), a compilation fundamental to the Anthology. |
