The Authors: William L. Benoit is Professor of Communication at the University of Missouri. He received his Ph.D. in communication from Wayne State University. Kevin A. Stein is an Assistant Professor at Southern Utah University. He received his Ph.D. in communication from the University of Missouri. John P.
