It was basically a boring book. I don't think Coelho knows half as much about women as he thinks he does. I doubt that he has spent any time in Geneva except maybe the sex bars. (I lived there for ... Read full review

CRAP!!! This is one of the worst books that I have ever read! Bad writing -- trite platitudes, little conflict, unrealistic characters. Even the sex scenes are BORING!!! Don't waste your time on this badly written, preachy, new age-y waste of paper. Read full review

A really interesting novel with tons of thoughts of love and what the hell it is. Especially where to get it and how to hold it. Really romantic and teaches you a lot about yourself. Read full review

Impressive book. coelho has given new dimensions to sex in eleven minutes. In this book sex is defined not as an object of pleasure but as a means of self-realization or in terms of the Indian philosophy it is the union of atma and paramathma.

A great book to read.....sacred side of sex unveiled........the author writes it the sexual desires that arouse maria or on how she perceives the various aspects of prostitution.....a new...contrasting...definition of the word 'prostitution' can be seen...the whole new side of it discovered by the author which is much more than the literal meaning of has been viewed from a sacred and divine angle...and a truely exotic collection of passionate sexual encounters entangled in the threads of to be not just sex as we know it...but a heavenly experience...that can be felt...right when you are going through the pages of it...a prostitute falling in love...craving for intimacy....a farago of emotions,of passion.........which all ends like a 'happy-ending-love-story'.....many a girls would relate to the lead character 'maria'...her young love experiences...and how she moves on in life dealing with all the struggles on her own in a land far away from her her perception of love sex and desire changes as she goes through the ups and downs...awesome book to read any number of times..... I just personally love it!!!!
