About the author (2012)

Julian Smith ( writes about travel, science, and just about anything else for many national publications. He’s the author of guidebooks to El Salvador, Ecuador, Virginia, and the Southwest, as well as Crossing the Heart of Africa, about following the trail of a love-struck British explorer from South Africa to Sudan.
