This edited volume builds a bridge between social psychology and the organizational settings in which adults spend their working lives. Its primary goals are to promote an understanding of organizations by bringing to bear the concepts and methods of social psychology, and to develop the discipline of social psychology by confronting it with the phenomena of actual organizational life. The contributors break down the traditional stereotypical boundaries between theoretical and applied research, between the academic and business worlds, and between various academic subdisciplines.
