Every Good Gift
EVERY GOOD GIFT is the story of three friends, all poets, in Northern California during the Vietnam Era. Aaron, the protagonist, struggles to write well, seeing this as his ticket to popularity. Aaron's girlfriend Sarah seeks freedom from her possessive stepbrother. Aaron's friend Chuck, an ex-Beatnik twice Aaron's age, is bound by drugs and alcohol. The dynamic interaction of these personal conflicts with the gospel declared by the local Jesus People propels the novel to its dramatic climax.
