I am preparing an article about Harris Family participation in the battle of Seven Pines, Va, 1862 and was delighted to find in this genealogy by Gideon Dowse Harris a reference to William Augustine Harris having been thrown from his horse there, resulting in injury to a leg, and his having been elected as Lt. Col. of 59th Regt. Georgia Vol. Infantry while recovering at home in Milledgeville.
