Certainly this will go into my personal list of Top Ten Books of all time. What a hidden treasure! I found this book in the bargain bin at a library and purchased it for 25 cents... it sat on my bookshelf for 6 years before I picked it up.... I never put it down. Highly recommend this book. Dana's writing skill is unsurpased after all these years, rich detail and description puts you in the boat and on the beaches with this young sailor. Every highschool history teacher should have this one on the shelf in the classroom.
