This is an excellent book! The instructions for growing crystals are well... crystal clear :) The explanations of the science behind crystals including their symmetries and their structure is both excellent and accessible to a wide audience. I first read this book when I was in the sixth grade. I was able to follow the instructions to successfully grow Rochelle salt piezoelectric crystals. Now that I'm in grad school, it still provides clear, useful information on crystals that my grad books and classes tend to obscure.
