Great book for little ones new to the classroom! I think it could help a little one understand the fret of not having mom around, but that mom will always come back. It doesn't specifically speak to this subject, but I think you could relay that to young students. Read full review

About the author (2004)

Steven Kellogg has illustrated more than a hundred books, including IS YOUR MAMA A LLAMA? and THE DAY JIMMY'S BOA ATE THE WASH. He has also retold and illustrated the adventures of tall-tale heroes such as Paul Bunyan, Mike Fink, and Johnny Appleseed. He lives in Essex, New York.
