About the author (2012)

Heather Burch taught at New Life Academy, a Christian school in her hometown, for eight years. She and her husband, an ordained minister, are youth pastors at a nondenominational church in Florida and have worked in almost every area of ministry. In 2000, they were part of a revival that received national recognition from Christian magazines Charisma and Christianity Today. They also worked for an Assemblies of God ministry designed to send evangelistic materials to Asia Pacific. Speaking at teen conferences is one of Heather's favorite things to do.

Heather is active in several writer's groups and loves offering workshops. She is a member of RWA and served as the conference coordinator for her local chapter, Southwest Florida Romance Writers.

Writing The Halfling Series became her obsession when she entertained the thought What if the fate of the world was in the hands of teenagers? And what if those teens--though extraordinary--were also deeply flawed?

Along with Christy award-winning author Jill Williamson, Heather mediates novelteen.com, a website promoting clean teen fiction.
