Growing Up at Sea

Front Cover
Trafford Publishing, 2005 - Biography & Autobiography - 252 pages
This is a story about the life of a young girl and the many dangers that came her way, a story that could have been written by Robert Louis Stevenson.
This story recounts the first eighteen years of my life. Imagine terrifying hurricanes, boats exploding, swimming with sharks, avoiding Spanish gunboats and most of all hawking Balata figurines to lascivious sailors in order to eat!
The story begins with my first year in France and the advent of the Nazi invasion, my early childhood transported me from France to the Devils Islands to the beautiful island of Martinique. The reader will partake in my early adventurous life and visualize the life of a young girl growing up in a world that was harsh, cruel but at the same time like no other.

About the author (2005)

My name is Viviane Hucker, Alias Thereau. My dream was to one day write a book about some of my life adventures at sea. I was born in France, traveled all over the Caribbean and South America. Till I finally put anchor in the United States, where I now live in North Carolina.A few years ago, walking on the beach in Florida, I decided that it was time to write. It took a few years to put everything together. I hope you enjoy my book!
