Data on Demers/Dumais Families in Québec, 1648-1835: Background for Emigration to the United StatesJean Dumets/du Met/Dumay/Demers (1632-1708) was born at St.-Jacques, Dieppe, Normandy, France, the son of Jean du Met, and the brother of André Dumets/Demers. He married Jeanne Vedié in 1654 at Montréal. They had twelve children, 1658-1701. The family lived first at Montréal and then at Côte de Lauzon. Most descendants of their sons, listed, lived in Quebec. |
