DAVID F. SLY is Professor of Sociology and Research Associate and Director of the Independent Population Project at the Center for the Study of Population, Florida State University, Tallahassee. He has written three previous books on population and migration.
ROBERT H. WELLER is Professor of Sociology and Research Associate in the Center for the Study of Population at Florida State University. His publications include Population: Demography and Policy (with Leon F. Bouvier) and The Effects of Immigration on the U.S. (with William J. Serow and David F. Sly), which is scheduled for publication in 1991.
