Jan Hendricks Vrooman son of Hendrick Meesen Vrooman was actually baptised in the Dutch Reformed Church of Leiden 15 February 1653. He married Geesje Symons Veeder 4 July 1680. He was not and could not have been an Indian captive after the Schenectady massacre from 9 Feb. 1690(new calendar) he is also recorded after 9 February 1690 "Jan Froman living behind the bush received 2 pair stockings" (History of the Schenectady paten by Prof. J. Pearson)
