If you read this book as a romance novel, you are an idiot. It's a social criticism filled with allegory and symbolism. The madwoman in the attic, the fire/ice motifs, the red-room.
Go read it again if you didn't like it.

Jane Eyre is the tumultous story of an orphan whose first taste of love is made bitter by hidden truths and tests of character. This book was my non detailed text in eighth grade.
A wonderful piece of art!
