A remarkable, very readable account of the life of Peter Lawford. I found this book refreshing for the candor and decadence revealed in every page. You might say that Lawford was a good man who led a bad life. He was in some ways a victim of circumstances with a crazy mother who yearned for something better in her son and a suicidal father. These unfortunate facts didn't make Peter self-destructive until the last third of his life, given over to whoring, booze, and drugs. But for all that, I admire Patricia Seaton's work in making this very readable biography of her husband.
