'The Elements of Islamic Philosophy' is a wonderful book written by my maternal grandfather Mr. Ali Mahdi. I have read this book repeated times from my childhood and also translated a few chapters of it in Urdu. This book gives a clear insight about the essence of Islamic philosophy in a very concise and comprehensive manner. If a student of Islamic philosophy wants to understand the principles and syntax of Islamic philosophy, must read this book.
