Some Descendants of William Sawyer, of Newbury, MassPress of D. Clapp & Son, 1891 - 11 pages William Sawyer (1613-1703) was one of the founders of the Baptist Church at Newbury in 1682. His wife's name was Ruth. He lived in or near what is now West Newbury, where some of his descendants may still be found. He had twelve children, all born at Newbury: John (b. 1645); Samuel (b. 1646); Ruth (b. 1648), married Benjamin Morse of Newbury 1667; Mary (1650-1659); Sarah (b. 1651), married Joshua Browne of Newbury 1669; Hannah (1654-1660); William (b. 1656); Frances (1658- 1660); Mary (1660-1699), married John Emery of Newbury 1683; Stephen (b. 1663); Hannah (1665-1683); and Frances (b. 1670). Descendants live in Massachusetts and elsewhere. |
