About the author (2007)

Megan McDonald grew up in Pittsburgh, PA in the 1960s. She attended Oberlin College and received a B.A. in English, then she went on to receive a Library Science degree at Pittsburgh University in 1986. Before becoming a full-time writer, McDonald had a variety of jobs working in libraries, bookstores, museums, and even as a park ranger. She has received various awards for her storytelling including a Judy Blume Contemporary Fiction Award, a Children's Choice Book award, and a Keystone State Award among others. She currently resides in Sebastopol, California with her husband and pets.

Bob s passion for writing began at an early age when, in high school, he enrolled in public speaking and writing short stories and essays. Except for a hiatus of perhaps five years, when his writing was relaxed, he has always maintained it to be his first love and as a tool not to be wasted.

Susan McAlily lives near Seattle, Washington. She also created spot art and map illustration for Welcome to Kaya's World, as well as for Kaya's, Kit's, Josefina's, and Addy's fiction books.
