Hans Christian Andersen's timeless tale of vanity and fear of exclusion, tells the story of an emperor who is duped by two "tailors" that fashion robes for him. The tailors tell the emperor that the robes are invisible to those who are unworthy, so he pretends that he can see them. The tailors pretend to make his robes, and the emperor parades out to his kingdom in nothing but his underwear! The towns people, afraid to admit that they too, cannot see the robes, all pretend to admire the emperors clothes, all except one little boy, who tells the emperor that he has no clothes!
