The American Girls Collection of books are non-fiction chapter books that incorporate bits of history into them. They are a fun series that young girls will enjoy reading. There are several characters in several settings that are very relatable, even if they are in a different time period. Since they are chapter books there aren't as many pictures in them as actual picture books. However, there are several illustrations interspersed throughout the text.
