This reference seems to have a number of errors as it relates to the Dales, Evans, and Whartons.
p. 141 Thomas Dale was a Lt., per DAR records and the records of Maryland Militia, not a Captain
.
p. 140 This Catherine Wharton was the daughter of Hinman Wharton (son of Daniel Wharton), per "Sussex County Delaware Marriage References 1648-1800". Note also in the reference that a Dale married Elizabeth Evans, dau of this John Evans & Catherine Wharton.
Daniel Wharton's family and John Evans lived about 12 miles apart.
