I will never understand the human race and the need for a god. No one knows why we are here and know one has the answer.
This is in my mind, the most accurate translation of the Bible in the English language. It retains Old English style of writing and restores the Divine Name YHWH to "Jehovah" in every place in the text where it is traditionally omitted.
From all the American Standard Versions of the Bible that I've seen; the Cross reference edition seems to me the most thorough. It exhibits center column references, has a Concordance, and Dictionary. Also of note, it has Topical Footnotes, which drew me to this Bible in the first place. For example, if a text is referring to Sacrifice of any kind, in it's footnote it will either give a reference to go to or it will literally give you every relevant scripture on the subject of sacrifice. e.g. Sacrifice of Money Gen. _:_;etc. Sacrifice of Animals Gen._:_etc. Sacrifice of Human Life Gen._:_ Sacrifice as an attitude, Sacrifice as a command, etc.
To be quite honest, this is my favorite Bible and I own over 20 Bibles. I am blessed to own two editions of this ASV.
