About the author (2012)

Nick Cain has been a rugby writer for the Sunday Times since 1995, writing features, news stories, and match reports. He was editor of Rugby World magazine for nine years (1984-93), during which the circulation doubled. He has covered four Lions tours (1989, 1993, 1997, 2001) and four World Cups (1987, 1991, 1995, 1999). He has written two books on rugby, The Lions Diary (Michael Joseph/Penguin), covering Jeremy Guscott's victorious 1997 Lions tour of South Africa, and Rugby, a history of the game.
