Hidden waters "The book is a great visual story about the city and water, made especially for the Arq.Futuro. Focusing on São Paulo and Belem, two cities that maintain very different relationships with their rivers, Caio spent the last months visiting places where water is present - of fountains the water sources, dams, channels the great rivers to streams. The photographic material was then worked in sequences and collages. The book is a great visual reflection about the presence of water in the urban environment, divided,in three main chapters: the aerial sequences, the collages and an apocalyptic final", summarizes Thyago Nogueira, curator of the project and coordinator of contemporary photography of the Instituto Moreira Salles. Beyond the photographic series, Hidden Water has an unprecedented text by Bahian writer and anthropologist Antonio Risério titled "The City and the Waters", the text examines the Brazilian urban sprawl and its relation with water. |
