i read and studied the principals in this book while in highschool ,in the seventies, it was a new begining relationship with the outdoors, i seen it in a totally new perspective, into living of the land, since my initial studies of this manual , i progress into learning about edible plants, look alikes, and totally living of the land, and all aspects of survival itsa great book before survivorman or bear grylls came along.i consider myself well adapted to overcome any disaster, that has any thing to do with living of the land
I happened upon this book as a young boy, and even at the young age of 10 I knew it was something special. A friend and I took the book out into the wilds of Eastern Kentucky, and we read about and practiced many of the skills detailed within. It didn't take us long to discover that this book was the real deal. Thirty years later, I can remember many of the tips from the book, and they've been invaluable. Someday soon I hope to take this same book out on a camping trip with my child.
