Descendants of John Schmidt and Magdalena KopfensteinJohn Schmidt (d.ca.1912) married Magdalena Kopfenstein. They lived in Petersthal, Russia, and were Mennonite descendants of German immigrants to Russia. They immigrated about 1885 to Winnipeg, Manitoba, and settled the Ebenezer area near there in 1889. Descendants and relatives lived in Manitoba, Quebec, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Washington, Oregon and elsewhere in the United States. |
