Batting Stance Guy: A Love Letter to Baseball

Front Cover
Simon and Schuster, May 11, 2010 - Sports & Recreation - 256 pages
Batting Stance Guy never expected he would become a YouTube celebrity, racking up more than two million views, landing profiles in The New York Times and USA Today, and even scoring an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. But when a friend and neighbor started capturing this man’s unusual talents with a video camera, that’s what happened. With uncanny precision, Batting Stance Guy can mimic any baseball player he’s ever seen, and the results will take you back—to the game last night, or last year, or in 1980, or anywhere in-between.

About the author (2010)

Gar Ryness, a.k.a. Batting Stance Guy, is a Bay Area native whose lack of coolness has allowed him to spend most of his time perfecting the art of loving baseball.

Caleb Dewart is a Boston native and obsessed Celtics/Red Sox/Patriots fan, who has lived and worked in Los Angeles since 1997. He produced music videos until the internet killed the record business and now he produces television commercials, and, of course, the website for Batting Stance Guy.
