I was disappointed with this book.  For one,  I think it leaves young children with the wrong idea about how difficult it can be to learn to ride a bike since Froggy was successful on his 2nd attempt.  I don't like the way Froggy's dad just buys him the bike (doesn't seem to be his birthday, he hasn't earned money towards it) and then when Froggy wants both the bell and the horn, his dad complies.  I think that would have been a good chance to let kids know that they can't just have EVERYTHING they want, but I guess if you're a frog you can.  Froggy never says please and thank you, in any of his books!  He always sounds demanding, "I want a trick bike!" .  Then, to top it all off, Froggy's dad tells Froggy that he "won't let go", but then does!!  Let's teach kids not to trust their parents!  I liked some of the first Froggy books that came out, but now every time I read one to my kids, I find the need to change the wording to make Froggy sound more polite.  Instead of "Frroogyy! "Whaaaaat!" , we say "Yes dad?" among others. I need books that are going to set better examples for my boys...they are stinkers enough on their own with out help from books!

I didn't like that the dad always lied. Not my style. Read full review
