About the author (1993)

Hugh Poulton teaches at the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies and the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. He is the author of "Who are the Macedonians?" and The Top Hat, The Grey Wolf and the Crescent, also available from New York University Press.
