This is a great novel about the early church. It includes the percution of the church, the death of some martyers, and the conversion of a heathen girl named Fabiola. She is the main person in this book although she has many riches and her father gives her what ever she wants she is not happy.Her
Cousin agnes who is pictured as st. Agnes in this book is a christian, so is her slave syra and sabastine who is pictured as st. Sabastine who she wished to marry. She is always wondering why her cousin is so happy and even syra, she has a dreamin which she sees them together with a another blind girl who is a saint in a place where they are all happy ,while she is not and looks at them from afar off and cannot join them. She is later converted by her slave syra whom she strikes with a knife as a punishment for not praising her. Syra bears this patiently all she wants to do is convert Fabiola. Other saints are included. This is an excellent book one that you will read twice.
