Donald McKay: Designer of Clipper Ships
Donald McKay left his father's farm in Nova Scotia for the shipyards but discovered it was ship building he wanted, not sailing. As he worked as an apprentice until he had his own yards, he slowly developed the sharp lines of the clipper, ships that were larger and faster than any that had sailed before.
