The area covered by this volume-comprises the Darjelling, Kurseong, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Buxa forest divisions, or the political districts of Darjelling and Jalpaiguri. It includes most of the trees, shrubs and climbers of Sikkim, except those at levels above 11,000 feet and in fact a great part of the area is usually known as Sikkim by botanists.
