About the author (2000)

This is Mark Bernstein s seventh book all on history, most on Ohio. His work includes Grand Eccentrics, a group biography of such turn-of-the-century inventors as the Wright Brothers and Charles Kettering, and World War II on the Air (with Alex Lubertozzi and Dan Rather), an account of Edward R. Murrow and CBS radio coverage in the European Theater. He has written more than 100 articles that have appeared in Smithsonian, Smithsonian Air & Space, American History and Ohio Magazine. He lives in Takoma Park, Maryland.
