About the author (1998)

Stephen E. Lammers is Helen H. P. Manson Professor Emeritus of the English Bible at Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania.

Allen Verhey is Professor of Christian Ethics at Duke Divinity School. He holds a doctorate from Yale University and has served as director of the Institute of Religion at the Texas Medical Center and as the Blekkink professor of religion at Hope College.
