About the author (1981)

Alwyn James was raised in the Welsh valley town of Tredegar, but has lived in Scotland for over 30 years. An unapologetic dilettante, he has written articles on subjects as diverse as Enrico Caruso and Scottish banknotes for the Scottish press. Until recently, Alwyn was co-presenter of the Royal Bank of Scotland's in-house satellite TV station with Sally Magnusson.
