this is an excellent book to read which unfortunately can not be found in paper version. the paragraphs about CaF2 were very helpful to my research on this material.

John C. Miller (1907-1991) was Edgar E. Robinson Pro-fessor of U.S. History at Stanford University. His books in-clude Sam Adams, Crisis in Freedom: The Alien and Sedition Acts, The Federalist Era, 1789-1801, The First Frontier: Life in Colonial America, and Origins of the American Revolution.
