This textbook's main purpose is to prepare students for the We the People competition and expand students' knowledge on the American system of government. The book is fantastic about preparing students for thoughtful discussion with its detailed descriptions and thought-provoking questions. However, it is of equal importance that an instructor or teacher takes part in creating a rich and productive environment that aids students in their studies of the American government. The textbook is a tool in the toolbox of success, not necessarily the key.
