This book is amazing! It has helped me so much to understand the depths of what Jesus has done for us in His becoming a man and His life, death and resurrection. Through using this book to study Hebrews I have grown so much in my love for our Lord and I find myself sharing what I have learned with others so enthusiastically. Andrew Murray was such a great author and servant of God anyway but this book is one of my all time favorites. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to strengthen their foundation in Christ and their faith in His love for us; in what He has done and is continuing to do in us if we yield and rest in Him.
Aargh, aargh, aargh.
On one side: Those people plastering those reviews about the original text getting perverted ARE correct about the most popular version of this book out there -- the Kenneth Copeland abridged version (the kinda pinkish one with the green left-hand side), which conveniently removes anything that might fly in the face of name it/claim it theology, including most of Murray's commentary on Hebrews 12. Turns out God apparently doesn't chasten us as sons after all. Way to hijack a classic, guys.
Problem is, said reviewers in their zeal have plastered their negative reviews on EVERY SINGLE EDITION of this book, so it's pretty much impossible to tell which "correct" versions even exist, even if they ARE faithful to Murray's original text.
Um, thanks, you guys too?
