About the author (2003)

Fred Bongard, MD, is a professor of surgery at the CLA School of Medicine and chief of the Division of Trauma and Critical Care at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. A prolific author and researcher, he is triple boarded in general surgery, vascular surgery, and critical care.

Darryl Y. Sue, MD, is director of the Medical-Respiratory Intensive Care Unit at UCLA Medical Center and professor of clinical medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Janine R.E. Vintch, MD, FPPC, is an assistant professor of medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Demetrios Demetriades MD, PhD, is Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine. Dr Demetriades is also Vice-Chairman of Surgery and Director of the Trauma Program and Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, one of the largest trauma centers in the United States.
