An eye opening book on economics, written at a level that any layperson can easily follow, dissecting the key points of other economic theories, and then proposing the only real solution to economic inequality.
It's a really interesting snapshot of the USA and the world of 1879, before the shift from a largely agrarian economy, to manufacturing and mass production, before telephones, radio, TV, true steam ships, internal combustion engines, massive exploitation of natural resources, and even tax as we know it today.
Despite the 130 odd years since it was published, the economic principles are exactly the same.
If you experience the 2007-2008 financial crises, you would think he had written this in response to that event, that's how relevant it remains.
