So far so good,

I enjoyed this book. Note that I read it after "How the Dog became the Dog", by Mark Derr.
That book's subtitle is "From Wolves to Our Best Friends."
This other book is exactly what its title says
. Back in time, before and mostly after the last ice age. Even Neanderthals seemed to keep in the company of dogs. Note: 'In the company of' is well explained in this book.
In Ms. Horowitz's book I found out more of the nuances of dog life, the basis for their behaviors, amazing capabilities, and surprising weaknesses.
You'll know what makes your dog happy. What s/he likely thinks about clothes for dogs. And lots more.
This is something you can pick up and reread, skip ahead, or put down and pick up again.
A good listen.

Inside of a Dog has completely changed the way I now interact with dogs. I highly recommend this book for anyone who owns or plans to own a dog.
