Every parent who has ever tried exposing their child to ANYTHING new knows that they probably have a challenge before them. If hiking happens to be that thing today, then you want this book. The author lists more than 100 games nicely divided by stuff you can do to get your child interested in hiking, things you might do on the drive over, loads of games/activities for the trial itself, and even some stuff you might do afterward to remember the trip. The games/activities also are organized by age, starting with toddlers on up to teens. One other bonus: Most of the games are nature-oriented, geared toward getting kids to explore, understand and appreciate the what they encounter on the trail. The next time I hit the trail, I'm first leafing through this book to come up with some great games/activities to try with my kids! - Greg Peyton, Stevens Point, WI (Feb. 15, 2013)
